What a Real Personal Branding Session Actually Includes — And Why It's Nothing Like a Headshot

Why your brand images are the most underestimated investment in your business — and what a real personal branding session actually looks like
There is a version of personal branding photography that goes like this: you book a two-hour shoot, you show up in your best blazer, someone takes 400 photos of you against a white wall, you get 20 back, you use three of them on LinkedIn and wonder why nothing changed.
That is not what I do.
What I do starts weeks before you ever step in front of a camera. It ends with a content library that will serve your brand for the next two years. And everything in between is more intentional, more collaborative, and more specific to you than most people expect photography to be.
Here is what a real personal branding session looks like.
It starts with strategy, not a shot list.
Before we talk about locations or outfits or lighting, we talk about your brand. What are you building? What have you already built? Where are you going in the next 12 to 24 months and what does that version of you look like? We do this over multiple calls — not a single intake form, but real conversations that build your visual storyboard from the inside out.
This is where most photography falls short. Beautiful images made without a strategic foundation are just beautiful images. They might look good on the day you post them and do nothing for you for the rest of the year.
We bring your marketing partners into the room.
This is the part that changes everything. Your web designer knows your website needs a horizontal hero image at a specific ratio. Your digital marketer knows you need square crops for ads and vertical content for stories. Your brand strategist knows which three emotions your visuals need to evoke at every touchpoint.
Most photographers never ask. We do. We work with your existing team to understand every space that needs to be filled before we shoot a single frame — so what we make actually fits into your world and works across every platform you're building on.
Shoot day is a production.
A stylist pulls and styles your looks. Hair and makeup are handled. We move through multiple locations — or use the studio, or both — according to a shot list we have already agreed on together. There is a prop guide. There is a plan. Nothing is left to chance because chance is not something you can build a content strategy on.
You show up knowing exactly what we're making and why. That clarity shows up in the images. Every time.

We don't hand you a gallery and disappear.
After the shoot there is a usage consultation. We go through what you have, where it lives, and how to deploy it — across your website, LinkedIn, Instagram, speaking materials, press kit, email marketing, and anywhere else your brand shows up. Because images that sit in a folder are not a content library. They're just files.
What you actually walk away with.
Not a set of pretty photos. A two-year content infrastructure. Images that work as hard as you do — across every platform, every pitch, every bio, every press mention, every campaign you haven't planned yet but will.
This is a luxury offering. My team and I invest an extraordinary amount of time, expertise, and intention into every single one. It is priced to reflect that. There are no shortcuts and no discounts — because the work doesn't allow for either, and frankly neither does yours.
I'm opening 4 spots in May for women in the MetroWest area who are building a brand, relaunching a business, or scaling up and need visuals that can finally keep pace with where they're going.
If that's you, I'd love to start with a conversation. In person, over an hour, no pressure. Just two people figuring out whether what we do is the right fit for where you're headed
