How much do professional headshots cost?
We offer two session types. The Headshot Mini is $850 — 30 minutes, one wardrobe change, hair and makeup, three edited images. The Individual Headshot Session is $1,500 — 60 minutes, multiple wardrobe changes, hair and makeup, five edited images. Additional images are available at $200 each, of course image bundles of 5 and 10 are available too.
What should I wear for my headshot?
Wear professional attire appropriate for your industry. For business professionals, this typically means a blazer, button-down shirt, or professional dress. Avoid busy patterns, large logos, or distracting jewelry. We'll discuss wardrobe details during your 15-minute consultation, and we can provide guidance based on your profession.
Do you include hair and makeup?
Yes! Every headshot mini session includes professional hair and makeup. This ensures you look polished, camera-ready, and confident in your photos without needing to arrange separate styling.
How long does a headshot session take?
The Headshot Mini is 30 minutes of photography time plus approximately 45-60 minutes for hair and makeup — about 75-90 minutes total. The Individual Session is 60 minutes of photography time plus hair and makeup — plan for approximately 2 hours total.
When will I receive my photos?
Both sessions deliver fully edited high-resolution images within five business days. The Headshot Mini includes three images. The Individual Session includes five images.
Can I purchase additional photos?
Yes — additional images are available at $200 each for both session types. We also offer bundles of five images at $800 and ten images at $1,400.
Where are you located?
Studio S Portraits is located in Needham, Massachusetts, centrally positioned in MetroWest Boston. We're easily accessible from Wellesley, Newton, Natick, Brookline, Framingham, Weston, Dover, and throughout the greater Boston area.
Do you offer same-day headshots?
We schedule headshot mini sessions on specific dates (the next date is listed on this page). While we don't offer same-day sessions, contact us if you have an urgent need and we'll do our best to accommodate but we don't offer this so that we can take the time to create the best images instead of anything done in a hurry.
What's the difference between your mini sessions and full personal branding photography?
Headshot mini sessions are 30 minutes, include one wardrobe change, and provide three edited photos—perfect for LinkedIn, company websites, or quick updates. Personal branding photography is 4-6 hours, includes multiple outfits and setups, and provides 25-65 images creating a comprehensive visual library for your entire brand.
Can I bring multiple outfits?
The mini session includes one wardrobe change (two total looks). If you need headshots in more than two outfits, consider our personal branding photography package or contact us about booking an extended session.
Is professional hair and makeup really necessary?
Professional makeup ensures you look your best on camera without looking "made up." Our makeup artists specialize in camera-ready makeup that looks natural in photos while eliminating shine, evening skin tone, and ensuring you look polished. Hair styling completes the professional look. This is included in every session.
What is the difference between the Headshot Mini and the Individual Session?
The Headshot Mini is designed for professionals who need a sharp, current image efficiently — one look, three images, done. The Individual Session is for professionals whose work spans multiple contexts and who want more time, more variety, and more images. What if I don't like being photographed?
You're not alone! Most of our clients feel camera-shy at first. I guide you through every pose and expression, and our relaxed approach makes the experience actually enjoyable. By the end of the 30 minutes, most clients forget to be nervous.
Do you photograph men?
Yes! While we specialize in photographing women professionals, we welcome all professionals who resonate with our approach to professional headshot photography.
Can I book for my whole team?
Absolutely! We offer group booking discounts for teams, companies, or organizations needing consistent professional headshots. Contact us to discuss corporate headshot packages, they are all individually customized.
What's your cancellation policy?
The $850 fee is non-refundable but can be transferred to a future headshot mini session date if you need to reschedule with at least 48 hours notice.

I am Shruthi (shrew-thee), mid-40s, and loving life.
I am loving getting older, and learning to be kind to myself not just others.
I have ADHD and anxiety, but you will never know that when you meet me. I am an introvert but you would never know when you meet me because I have Chandler Bing’s personality - I will make you laugh before you find out am actually an introvert.
The love of my life is my pupper, Sonny, and the 'S' in Studio S is for him. There is nothing in the world I wouldn’t do for him.
I am a plus size curvy girl and I own it! My business is, like me, body positive, age positive, women positive. I love being an older woman and am already in my “grumpy give no F’s” era.
I believe in creating experiences for women that celebrate who we are right now. No special occasion needed.
